Quarantine Cinnamon Rolls
I will start by saying that I love that people are taking this extra time at home to learn new skills and one of those skills being baking. I am a wee bit sad though, that I can not find any yeast ANYWHERE! So the other day when I was really wanting to make cinnamon rolls from scratch with homemade icing (trust me on homemade icing for cinnamon rolls – you get more of it because they never give you enough in a can of cinnamon rolls), I had to get creative because I did not have any yeast.
SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE
I used a can of crescent rolls, cinnamon, sugar, and butter.
Roll out the rolls and spread butter across the dough. Mix cinnamon and sugar together and then sprinkle that across the rolls. Roll up as you would crescent rolls normally and bake the same.
THE ICING – THE MOST IMPORTANT PART
Pour 1-2 cups of powder sugar in a bowl. Start by adding in 1/2 a cup of heavy whipping cream and stir. Add more if needed, but you want a thick consistency.
That is it. You will have yourself some amazing, quick, quarantined cinnamon rolls.
I would love to know if you try this, so comment on here or post a picture and hashtag BreatheAndMaintain. If you post on instagram, please be sure to tag us!
I hope this little recipe brings some joy to your life during such uncertain times. We are praying for you and with you!
